Old buggy display.
Blackall Woolscour operated from 1908 to 1978. Woolscour means wool washing . This scour is the only steam driven scour with a shearing board left in Australia. In 2002 the Woolscour started using steam again to run the machinery and is now a tourist attraction, which we visited.

Blackall's water comes from the artesian basin with 3 bores sunk to a depth of 800m. Flowing under their own pressure the water can be 58-62 degrees when it surfaces. A cool water system is more likely to be found in Blackall homes than a hot water system
Blackall aquatic centre has a 50m pool and a bubble spa. Both with hot artesian water.

The black stump represents the observation site surveyors used to establish a principal meridional circuit traverse around the town in 1888.
