Day 48 22.11.18 Home 365km

Today marks the last day of our holiday 😐. We packed up, said our goodbyes and hit the road by 8am.
Cuddle time with the baby 😍

The traffic out of the Goldcoast was a bit hectic but once we hit Caboolture it was fine.
Home in time for some lovely rain. The grass is green and we have plenty of water in the creek and also plenty of weeds have grown in my little veg boxes 😕

Our beautiful neighbors have offered to have us over for dinner tonight so I won't even need to think about buying food until tomorrow 😍

This trip the camper trailer has traveled 6,335kms.

Taking the total to 20,833kms traveled since purchase 💖

In our 47 nights away we had:
15 nights with family
14 nights in a caravan park
13 nights free/low cost camping
 3  nights at a Showgrounds
 2  nights at pub stays

The most we paid for fuel was $1.579 in Walgett. The least we paid was $1.299 just north of Gympie on our last day.

Day 47 21.11.18 Nerang, Goldcoast

Was unable to get an early appointment with my Dr so we've decided to stay a second night with Rach & co.
Took the little dude to the park and for a wander along the river.

Apparently I have a ⬆broken foot and the treatment is to put your foot in a backpack!

Day 46 20.11.18 Nerang 23km

Early morning wake up by a giggling Seth.
Trying out his new dressing gown  from his aunty.
Checking out the chainsaw carvings of owls.
We went on a cow hunt ↕
Seth helped us pack up, winding down the camper by himself!

So as a reward we spent a couple of hours in a park at Canungra.

Nanny can I have a Christmas tree as big as this one?

Memorial to the animals who served.
 War memorial.
Such a curious mind, smelling and looking for bees.
Must've worn him out as he slept all the way back to his home.

Day 45 19.11.18 Canungra 220km

I had a great nights sleep despite the road noise. Mark heard a truck pull up next to us and leave the engine running for ages. I didn't, the ear plugs obviously worked well.

This morning we are going to Warwick to visit Rachels friend who had a baby 5 weeks ago.
Baby Ella⬆and big sister Jasmine ⬇

Then we are meeting Rach, John and Seth for an early dinner in Canungra. Seth is going to have a sleep over in the cubby house  (if all goes well ). He has been asking me for months. All our other grandies have had a turn in either this camper or the other one.

A goanna wood carvings

 Seth and Rachel .
 Turtle hunters.
Mark was teaching him to skip rocks on water.
Amusing himself with some empty containers.
Sharing out his chocolate.
Attempting to sleep with his torch on.

Day 44 18.11.18 Gore 134km

We have changed our plans again and are going to leave Toowoomba for another trip. We will slowly make our way over to the Goldcoast for a night with Rach and her family then home from there. My shoulder is really giving me grief and I need to get it seen to.
We stopped at Yelarbon to see the dingo fence end post ⬇

Coffee stop in Inglewood. We also stopped there on our way to Victoria.  Being Sunday the rabbit museum in Texas was closed so we didn't go there as hoped but decided to stop at Gore. There is an overnight area beside the general store. We are going to Warwick in the morning to visit a friend. This is the closest free camp there was.
We went for a short bike ride, 7 kms. The road was gravel AND hilly AND we had a head wind. My favorite type of ride...NOT! Actually the road went into a private property so we turned back.
We stopped to watch some sheep.
I  cooked a delicious quinoa bolognese for dinner and had a quiet night reading .

Day 43 17.11.18 Goondiwindi

A warm night and at 6.30am the thermometer reads 25degees.
We enjoyed a bike ride along the river and around town.
It was 'snowing ' yellow ⬆
Walking/riding path beside the McIntyre river      ↕
We visited Goondiwindi at the start of our trip so we decided to do a "beer & bullsh*t" tour of the old Victoria Hotel. We were the only ones on the tour so we got the guides undivided attention. He was an old time local of 82 years and had a wealth of knowledge. The tour included lunch and a drink. The man loved a good yarn and entertained us for 3 hours including having lunch with us. Unfortunately we both forgot to get a photo of the hotel from the outside & only took a couple inside.
Original leadlight windows.
The original fireplace
A piece of the original floor coverings.
Big, wide verandas upstairs.

View from the veranda.
Our own private luncheon.
Just as we arrived home a short, sharp storm arrived. As soon as that disappeared we headed to the pool and spa for a splash and me to do my shoulder exercises.

Day 42 16.11.18 Goondiwindi, Qld 197km

It's going to be a very long day. I took my first photo of the day at 4.55am.
And this one at 5.55am

Stopped at Tallow for a very delicious coffee. Then on to Weengallon to look at some water wells.
Up to 12 meters deep  ↕
Came across a long paddock ⬇
Goondiwindi botanical gardens ⬇we didn't stay long as it was very hot and dry.
Weighed up the costs and it was cheaper to stay in a caravan park with a pool than at the Showgrounds and pay to go to the pool. So we have booked 2 nights and made lots of use of the pool and spa already.

People have been very friendly here. We shared the small camp kitchen with another couple and had a great time chatting and comparing stories.
